Mike Matheny

Mike Matheny (born September 22, 1970 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio) is a catcher in Major League Baseball for the San Francisco Giants, and is considered one of the best defensive catchers to have ever played in the major leagues. Matheny attended the University of Michigan. He has also played for the Milwaukee Brewers (1994-1998),Toronto Blue Jays (1999), and the St. Louis Cardinals (2000-2004). Since joining the Cardinals in 2000, Mike has won three Gold Gloves (2000, 2003, 2004) and led his team to the postseason in every year but one (2003). He was signed by the San Francisco Giants to a three-year contract on December 13th 2004
