Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 87.0 km² (33.6 mi²). 86.8 km² (33.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.24% water. Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 797 people, 345 households, and 230 families residing in the township. The population density is 9.2/km² (23.8/mi²). There are 688 housing units at an average density of 7.9/km² (20.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 99.25% White, 0.00% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.63% from two or more races. 0.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 345 households out of which 23.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.4% are married couples living together, 6.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% are non-families. 28.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.30 and the average family size is 2.82.
