Michael Tarrant

Michael Tarrant (born 1st March,1945), full name Michael Norman Alan Tarrant, also known as Mike, stood for election in the Portsmouth South constituency in the 2001 United Kingdom General Elections for the UKIP. Tarrant gathered 321 votes, or 0.85% of the total. The seat was won by Mike Hancock of the Liberal Democrats (UK) party with 17,490 votes. In 2004 Mike was chosen as the UKIP party candidate for the Isle of Wight constituency in the elections expected for spring 2005, a region in which the party polled comparatively well during the European Parliament election, 2004.
