Michael Heath (Computer Scientist)

Michael T. Heath is one of the leading minds in modern Computer Science and Scientific computing. He currently holds the Fulton Watson Copp Chair in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also the director of the Department of Energy's Center for the Simulation of Advanced Rockets. Dr. Heath received his Bachelors in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky, his Masters in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee, and his Doctorate in Computer Science from Stanford University. Prior to his current career as a professor he worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.
