Michael Apple

Michael Apple is a leading critical educational theorist. He is recognized for his numerous books and scholarly interests that center on education and power, cultural politics, curriculum theory and research, critical teaching and the development of democratic schools. He is currently the John Bascom Professor of Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Michael formally was an elementary and secondary school teacher, as well as a past president of his teachers union. He has worked with educators, unions, dissident groups, and governments throughout the world in democratizing educational policy and practice.
