1466 cc I4 | The MG T series of cars (including the TA, TB, TC, TD, and TF) was a basic body-on-frame sports car produced from 1936 through 1955. It was replaced by the MGA. TA The MG TA replaced the MG PB in 1936. It was an evolution of the previous car but the advanced overhead cam engine was replaced by a more typical OHV unit from the Wolseley 10. The engine displaced just 1292 cc, and power output was 54 hp (40.3 kW). Like the PB, it was an open car with an ash frame. TB The TA was replaced by the TB in 1939 with the addition of a smaller engine. This 1250 cc unit featured a slightly less-undersquare 66.6 mm bore and 90 mm stroke. TC The TC was the first postwar MG, launched in 1945. It was quite similar to the pre-war TB, sharing the same engine but using more modern interior elements. It was exported to the United States, and 10,000 were produced. TD The 1950 TD combined the TC's drivetrain with the MG Y-type chassis and a familiar T-type body. An independent suspension in front was new, as was left-hand drive. Nearly 30,000 TDs had been produced when the series ended in 1953. TF The TD was facelifted a bit to become the TF for 1953. It was produced through 1955, with a larger 1466 cc engine introduced in the Fall of 1954. It was replaced by the MGA the next year. T
