Metro International

Metro International is a Swedish media company. Under the brand name Metro, it runs the world's largest chain of free newspapers, publishing and distributing 29 editions in 16 countries and in 14 languages. The company was started as a subsidiary of the Modern Times Group, and the first edition was published and distributed for the Stockholm Metro. The newspaper is primarily distributed in metro systems, and locally the name may vary due to trademark issues. One example is the Hong Kong edition, which is called Metropolis Daily.
