Mesquite Independent School District

right The Mesquite Independent School District is a school district in Mesquite, Texas (incorporating portions of other towns) which follows the standard definition of an Independent School District. The district is rather large, containing in excess of 30,000 students. There are five main high schools, 3 of which are AAAAA (or 5A, the highest in a system of Texas school size classification). These are: Mesquite HS (5A), North Mesquite HS (5A), John Horn HS (5A), Ralph Poteet HS (4A), and West Mesquite HS (4A). The district has decided to adopt a Standard Dress Code starting with the 2005 to 2006 school year. The Superintendent is Dr. James Terry, who will be succeeded by Dr. Linda Henrie in the 2005-2006 school year. Links
