Mersea Island

Mersea Island is an island in Essex, England, south of Colchester. It is separated from the mainland by a narrow creek called the Strood, spanned by a road (B1025) that is covered by spring tides. The main industries on Mersea are farming and oyster fishing. There are two settlements, the town of West Mersea and the hamlet of East Mersea.
