Mendez V. Westminister School District

Mendez v. Westminister School District 64 F.Supp. 544 (1946) was a court case in which the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled that Orange County, California could not segregate Mexican-American children into separate schools. This decision came eight years before the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a similar ruling in Brown v. Board of Education with reference to segregation of African-Americans.
