Melbourne Kestrels

The Melbourne Kestrels are a netball team based out of the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Melbourne, Australia. They are one of two Melbourne teams, along with the Melbourne Phoenix, that compete in the national Commonwealth Bank Trophy. They initially played at the Waverley Netball Centre, but moved to the State Netball and Hockey Centre in 2001, after that was completed in preparation for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Although the Kestrels have never won the competition, they have made the finals several times. They have sometimes been seen as a lesser cousin of the Phoenix, who have dominated the competition since its inception. However, the Kestrels' 2004 season has been one of their most successful, and they have won nearly every game. Their colours are orange, blue and lime.
