Medium Extended Air Defense System

Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) is a military project intended to replace aging NATO patriot missiles. USA, Germany, Canada and other countries are contributing toward the project. France, though intially in the project, withdrew sometime back. MEADS is a tactically mobile and transportable air and missile defense system designed to travel with Army maneuver (on-the-go mobile) forces. MEADS has come under the missile defense umbrella of the Missile Defense Agency.
