Geography Meadowood is located at 40°50'49" North, 79°53'40" West (40.846949, -79.894440). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.0 km² (1.6 mi²). 4.0 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.64% is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,912 people, 1,100 households, and 799 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 725.4/km² (1,881.2/mi²). There are 1,130 housing units at an average density of 281.5/km² (730.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.73% White, 0.72% African American, 0.03% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.31% from two or more races. 0.14% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,100 households out of which 28.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% are married couples living together, 6.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.3% are non-families. 24.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.89. In the CDP the population is spread out with 20.4% under the age of 18, 4.7% from 18 to 24, 24.0% from 25 to 44, 27.1% from 45 to 64, and 23.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 90.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 86.3 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $48,004, and the median income for a family is $53,536. Males have a median income of $42,422 versus $23,387 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $19,616. 3.1% of the population and 2.2% of families are below the poverty line.
