"Me and Bobby McGee" is a song written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster, originally performed by Kristofferson and is one of the most-covered songs of all time. The best known interpretations of "Me and Bobby McGee" are performed by Janis Joplin on her 1971 Pearl album and the Grateful Dead's Skull & Roses album, also released in 1971. The song was also recorded by Gordon Lightfoot and Olivia Newton-John.
