Mcleansville, North CarolinaMcLeansville is a census-designated place located in Guilford County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,080. Geography McLeansville is located at 36°6'14" North, 79°39'37" West (36.103751, -79.660292). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 16.8 km² (6.5 mi²). 16.8 km² (6.5 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,080 people, 439 households, and 331 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 64.4/km² (166.8/mi²). There are 468 housing units at an average density of 27.9/km² (72.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 94.54% White, 2.96% African American, 0.37% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.02% from other races, and 1.02% from two or more races. 1.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 439 households out of which 32.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.7% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.4% are non-families. 21.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 2.84. In the CDP the population is spread out with 24.2% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 27.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 93.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.5 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $45,875, and the median income for a family is $51,089. Males have a median income of $34,250 versus $32,083 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $21,548. 8.3% of the population and 4.6% of families are below the poverty line.
