Max Van Der Stoel

Max van der Stoel (born August 3 1924) is a Dutch politician. He has been a Minister of Foreign Affairs and was born in Voorschoten. After his high school (Gymnasium A) he studied law at the Rijksuniversiteit Leiden. From 1953 to 1958 he worked for the Wiardi Beckmanstichting, the scientific bureau of the Partij van de Arbeid (PvdA) and become international secretary for the PvdA in 1963.
