Matsu

Matsu can refer to:
  • Matsu, 媽祖, a significant sea goddess in Chinese culture.
  • Matsu Islands are on the southeastern coast of China--the islands are named after the goddess.
  • Matsu (松, pine) is the highest order of a traditional three-tier ranking system in Japan which has, from highest to lowest order, elements 松竹梅 (pine, bamboo, plum). It is also traditionally used to indicate size when ordering sushi.
