Maryan Street is a New Zealand political candidate. She will be standing in the 2005 elections for the Labour Party, being ranked thirty-sixth on its party list. This is the second highest position given by Labour to someone who is not already a member of Parliament. Street was a president of the Labour Party organisation from 1994 until 1996. She was later appointed Director of Labour Studies at Auckland University, and also served on the board of a number of governmental bodies.
