Mary Christian

Mary Dorothy (Perry) Christian (June 12, 1889-April 20, 2003) was born in Massachusetts to parents whose name had been Anglicized from Perreira. She spent much of her life in California,where she died in a San Pablo nursing home. She became the oldest recognized person in the United States on the December 2002 death of Mae Harrington and was in turn succeeded in this title by Elena Slough.
