Martti Miettunen

) was a
politician
in
Finland
. He was
prime minister
in
1961
–
1962
and
1975
–
1977
. He was a lawmaker in the
Agrarian Party
from
1945
to
1958
, and was also
Governor
of the
Province of Lapland
from
1958
to
1973
. He died at the age of 94 in Kauniala military hospital near
Helsinki
in
2002
. Miettunen served as a
cabinet minister
for 4 300 days, fourth longest in Finnish political history. He was known also as
President
Urho Kekkonen
's right-hand man.
