Marquess Of CreweThe title Baron Houghton was created in the Peerage of the United Kingdom in 1863 for the noted Victorian literary person Richard Monckton Milnes. His son, Robert, was created Earl of Crewe upon the death of his maternal grandfather, the second Baron Crewe. He was later created Marquess of Crewe in 1911. Subsidiary titles were Earl of Madeley (1911), Earl of Crewe (1895), and Baron Houghton (1863), all in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. All titles became extinct upon Robert's death in 1945.
