Marlene Jennings

Marlene Jennings (born November 10, 1951 in Longueuil, Quebec) is a Canadian politician. Ms. Jennings is a current member of the Liberal Party of Canada in the Canadian House of Commons, representing the riding of Notre-Dame-de-GrceLachine since 1997. Ms. Jennings is a former lawyer and a senior public servant. She is the former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for International Cooperation, and the former Parliamentary Secretary to the Solicitor General of Canada. Ms. Jennings is the first black woman from Quebec to be elected to Parliament in the history of Confederation.
