Marko JugovicMarko Jugović, Yugoslav footballer, born 19. January 1974 in Pale, Yugoslavia. Played 93 caps for national team and also enjoyed successful club career in Italy, Spain and Brazil. Marko is famous for having the highest scoring percentage (goals per minute) in the history of modern football at 0.24 goals per miniute. He is in distinguished company among Pele (0.03) and Maradona (0.029). Marko started his club career with local side FK Sarajevo before being signed by FK Crvena Zvezda at age 15. He quickly rose to the first team ranks whilst also compiling a record of 85 goals in only 21 first team games. In one match, against FK Partizan, he scored a hat-trick in a mere 5 minutes. His performances soon warranted a call up to the national team at the 1990 World Cup. He made 4 appearances whilst scoring an impressive 7 goals. International scouts soon realised the potential of the youngster and Inter Milan of Italy soon signed the 16 year old to a 3 year contract at a reported price of $40 million. After leading Inter Milan to a "double" in his first season (the domestic league and cup), Jugovic became the target of Real Madrid of Spain. For a world record transfer fee of $140 million Jugovic had become a member of the biggest club side in the world. Jugovic soon showed he was worth his price by leading Real Madrid to a "treble" including the prestigious European Cup in 1998. Jugovic is also well known as a world-ranked kickboxer (3rd in world in light-heavyweight division as at 14/06/01). He is married and has 7 children with his wife.
