Mariano Grueiro

Mariano Grueiro is a writer, photographer, filmmaker and artist. He was born in 1975 in Naron, Galicia, Spain, grew up in Ferrol in the 1980s, in the middle of a Galician naval cruise. His first photographic work is dated between 1996 and 1999, "People in Compostela", a photographic essay about Santiago de Compostela, and next to this is the Galician coast (1999). As writer, he started to write at 1994 different essays about Galician society, and Wildliza, a book with a compilation of this essays (2001). As a filmaker, awaking of the nightmare, a work about the great Galician protest of 1-12-2002, is his most famous work.
