Marapets is a virtual pet site that has been open since August 2004. It is similar to Neopets in many ways, with such features as towns, shops, hidden avatars, and games. The current user count is over 36,000, with 34,000 pets and 92,000 posts having been made on the forums. Some pets available in Marapets are based on real-life animals, such as the Doyle, which looks similar to a Mouse and the Feliz, resembling a Bear.
