ManouchManouch Nava is a hotdog vendor that has been selling hotdogs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at George Washington University on 21st Street between H and I Street. Manouch has become a GW icon for his personable service and late night convinience. While Manouch has a variety of toppings for hotdogs that include the typical ketchup and mustard, his trademark and specialty is GW Sauce. The recipe of GW Sauce is far from public and Manouch, who is of Iranian decent claims that the sauce is not Persian, rather "whatever you want it to be." The sauce has the qualities of a stew of a variety of vegetables and is a nearly unanimous favorite among the GW community. A psuedo philosopher, Manouch is always willing to give advice or explain the truths of the universe to his patrons, except when the line is too long; a frequent occurance. Currently, Manouch is working on a book containing a series of quotes that are meaningful to him and is very open to submissions. Manouch's menu has stayed fairly consistent over time and consists of Hotdogs, Half Smokes and Pretzels. It is fair to say that without Manouch, the GW community would be quite different and definetly more hungry.
