Manitoba Moose

The Manitoba Moose are an American Hockey League ice hockey team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In 1996 the team were moved from Minnesota to fill the recently vacated Winnipeg Arena. Initially, the Manitoba Moose were a member of the IHL, and had some playoff success. When the IHL folded, the Manitoba Moose joined the AHL and became the official farm team of the Vancouver Canucks. In November 2004, the Manitoba Moose officially opened the new downtown arena in Winnipeg called the MTS Centre, formerly known as the True North Centre.
