Malene Mortensen

Malene Winter Mortensen (b. May 23, 1982) is a Danish singer. She was totally unknown when in 2002 she won the Danish Melodi Grand Prix, the Danish preselections for the Eurovision Song Contest. Her song was called "Vis mig hvem du er". Considered a potential winner, she totally failed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the English version of it, "Tell me who you are" - she received a mere seven points. Although her Eurovision result was a shock for both the Danish audience and herself, she did not give up her musical career. In 2003 she released her debut album called "Paradise". This album contains modern jazz, and Malene was accompanied by three of Denmark's best known jazz musicians : Niels Lan Doky (piano), Niels-Henning rsted Pedersen (bass) and Alex Riel (drums).
