Maleficent

Maleficent is a fictional character, the wicked fairy who appears in Disney's adaptation of Sleeping Beauty, who cursed the infant Aurora after not being invited to the baby's court presentation. Maleficent is considered the classic Disney villain: imposing, serious, and terrifying. She had a range of magical powers, the most impressive of which was turning into a fierce European dragon in a cloud of billowing green flames. Through a deep and commanding voice Maleficent is heard, echoing throught the halls of her castle. Of the four fairies who appear in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent is the most powerful. She mostly worked through her pet raven, Diablo, and her goons, making orders and brooding. Animated by Marc Davis, and voiced by Eleanor Audley (who also voiced Lady Tremaine, stepmother of Cinderella), her beauty and evil prowess will arguably be treasured by fans for a long time to come. More recently, Maleficent was a recurring character on the TV series House of Mouse. Maleficent also appeared in the PlayStation game Kingdom Hearts as the major villian, although her characterization is sometimes considered more amoral than outright evil. She is also curiously honest about her promises and intentions. She recruited Riku to help her gather the Princesses of Heart, but her fate was sealed when Riku {possesed by Ansem's heart} turned on her & turned her into a dragon. She cameod in as an aspect from the memories of Sora & Riku. She was voiced in that series by Susan Blakeslee.
