The Magdalena Tinamou, (Crypturellus saltuarius), is a member of the most ancient groups of bird families, the tinamous. It is sometimes treated as a subspecies of the Red-legged Tinamou. This species is endemic to Colombia. It has not been seen since the type specimen was collected in 1943.
