Maeve Binchy

Maeve Binchy (born May 28, 1940, Dalkey, Ireland) is a popular Irish novelist and newspaper columnist. Many of her novels are set in Ireland, dealing with the tensions between urban and rural life, the contrasts between England and Ireland, and the dramatic changes in Ireland between World War II and the present day. The novels include: Binchy has also published several collections of short stories, including: As well, Binchy has written a book of non-fiction, Aches and Pains, contributed to Finbar's Hotel and Ladies Night at Finbar's Hotel, and edited Irish Girls About Town (2002) with Cathy Kelly and Marian Keyes.
