Made In Mexico Records

Made in Mexico Records is an imprint of the Secretly Canadian music family. The imprint was given new life in April 2004 by three close friends Seattle-based singer/songwriter Damien Jurado, Jessica Toon, and Audra Higgins. With the blessing of old friend James Morelos, the original owner of Made in Mexico (which closed its doors in 2000), Jurado, Toon, and Higgins adopted the familiar name and set out to establish a Made in Mexico of their own. The three co-owners operate the label as a true partnership, family-style, and are dedicated to releasing good music, supporting and treating artists fairly, and contributing to the Seattle music community. Like the original Made in Mexico (which released albums by Pedro the Lion, Damien Jurado, The Blessed Light, and Unwed Sailor), the new incarnation focuses on Northwest (especially Seattle) musicians. Indie-pop sensation Dolour was the first artist to join the new Made in Mexico Records family.
