Lyon College

Lyon College, a private liberal arts college in Batesville, Arkansas, was founded in 1872 as Arkansas College. It officially changed its name to Lyon College in 1994. Lyon is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA. Lyon also plays host to the annual Arkansas Scottish Festival each year in April. The college offers degrees in various disciplines. Lyon's athletic teams, the Scots (men) and Pipers (women) compete in the TranSouth Athletic Conference, and Lyon is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
