lust (dict)

Lust

The word lust means sexual desire (this meaning is sometimes metaphorically extended to other forms of desire, e.g. lust for power). It is considered a vice by many religions. Some moralists consider lust to be a corruption of temperance, in the sense that when temperance fails, lust is the natural result. In Christian theology, it is considered one of the seven deadly sins.
