Louisville is a village located in Cass County, Nebraska. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,046.

Geography

Louisville is located at 40°59'58" North, 96°9'35" West (40.999547, -96.159763). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 1,046 people, 436 households, and 286 families residing in the village. The population density is 791.9/km² (2,037.6/mi²). There are 456 housing units at an average density of 345.2/km² (888.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.66% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 0.29% from other races, and 0.48% from two or more races. 1.91% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 436 households out of which 34.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.0% are married couples living together, 9.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.2% are non-families. 29.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.40 and the average family size is 2.99. In the village the population is spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 33.4% from 25 to 44, 18.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.4 males. The median income for a household in the village is $40,875, and the median income for a family is $46,346. Males have a median income of $35,714 versus $27,031 for females. The per capita income for the village is $19,308. 3.7% of the population and 2.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 4.6% of those under the age of 18 and 4.7% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
