Loop (Knot)

The word "loop" has two different senses when used in reference to knots.
  • A loop is one of the fundamental structures used to tie knots. Specifically, it is a full circle formed by passing the working end over itself. See image: knot terminology.
  • A loop is a knot used to create a closed circle in a line. See list of loop knots.
