Longwave Transmitter Motala

The longwave transmitter Motala is a broadcasting station for longwave, established in 1927 in Motala, Sweden. It used as aerial an aerial of the T-type spun between two free standing steel framework towers, which still existst today. The transmitter was in service until 1962, as the new transmitter in Orlunda went in service. In 1991 the Swedish broadcasting company shut down its longwave transmitter. Nowadays the transmitter is an interesting technical museum, from which sometimes also transmissions with low power in the longwave range takes place. The reception of these transmissions abroad may nearly not succeed. List of towers *http://www.structurae.net/structures/data/index.cfm?id=s0014181
