Long ShotIn film, a long shot is a view from a distance. When the subject is human, a long shot shows his entire figure and is usually intended to place him in some relation to his surroundings. It's common now to refer to this composition as a "wide shot." In addition, a long shot is usually distinguished from a medium shot by the framing of a person; i.e., a medium shot will have the subject toward the center, while a long shot usually has the subject placed anywhere.
