Live A Live

Live a Live is a Squaresoft role-playing video game released in 1994. The game consists of numerous scenarios set in different time periods from prehistory to the near future, all with their own distinguishing features and quirks. The game's battle system is an original turn-based one that utilises a square grid, and does not use 'magic points', but rather, charge times for most moves. It was officially released only in Japanese, but a basic fan translation was released in 2001. Live a Live contains 9 chapters, one of which is unlocked when the first 7 are completed, and the last unlocked when that is completed. The chapters are as follows: Prehistoric Chapter, "Contact"
Bakumatsu Chapter, "Secret Orders"
Kung Fu Chapter, "Inheritance"
Old West Chapter, "Wandering"
Present Day Chapter, "The Strongest"
Near Future Chapter, "Flow"
Science Fiction Chapter, "Mechanical Heart"
Medieval Chapter, "King of Demons"
