Littlerock is a census-designated place located in Los Angeles County, California. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,402. It is located 11 miles southeast of Palmdale's Civic Center. Geography Littlerock is located at 34°31'30" North, 117°59'24" West (34.525056, -117.990048). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.8 km² (1.5 mi²). 3.8 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,402 people, 426 households, and 331 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 373.3/km² (967.3/mi²). There are 470 housing units at an average density of 125.2/km² (324.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 71.68% White, 4.78% African American, 1.07% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 19.76% from other races, and 2.50% from two or more races. 39.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 426 households out of which 49.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.1% are married couples living together, 12.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.3% are non-families. 17.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.29 and the average family size is 3.71. In the CDP the population is spread out with 38.5% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 16.5% from 45 to 64, and 7.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 29 years. For every 100 females there are 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.5 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $39,000, and the median income for a family is $50,357. Males have a median income of $46,667 versus $45,625 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $15,557. 23.7% of the population and 19.7% of families are below the poverty line.
