Little Wolf

Little Wolf (c1820-1904) was Native American Chief of the northern Cheyenne He led a group of warriors called the Bowstring Soldiers during the Northern Plains wars. He fought in the War for the Bozeman Trail, aka Red Cloud's War, which lasted from 1866 to 1868. As Chief he signed the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868. Around 1878 he and Dull Knife led almost 300 Cheyenne from their reservation near Fort Reno, Oklahoma, through the states of Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota, into Montana, their ancestral home. During the journey they eluded the US Cavalry which was trying to capture them.
