Little Fugitive

Little Fugitive is a 1953 film which tells the story of a young boy who runs away to Coney Island after he is tricked into believing he has killed his older brother. It stars Richard Brewster, Winifred Cushing, Jay Williams, Will Lee, Charlie Moss, Tommy DeCanio and Richie Andrusco. The movie was written and directed by Ray Ashley, Morris Engel and Ruth Orkin. Some people may know the film as The Coney Island Kid. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Writing, Motion Picture Story. The film has been deemed "culturally significant" by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. Another similar title is in production for 2005.
