Lithuanian Cuisine

Lithuanian cuisine consists mostly of the traditional Lithuanian dishes, which is richer than the cuisine of the other Baltic states. Major influences include the Polish cuisine and the Scandinavian cuisine. The most used vegetable in Lithuanian recipies is the potato, while the most used meat is the pork, which can be fried, brined, smoked and jerked. Another important part in the Lithunian cuisine is the cottage cheeses, of which many sorts are made: sour, sweet, filled with caraway, hard and soft.
