List Of Places Named For Christopher Columbus

A number of places, mostly in the Western Hemisphere, have been named for Christopher Columbus, the Italian voyager who was the first European to make the New World widely known to Europeans. The Space Shuttle Columbia, Columbia University and Columbia Broadcasting System and the Salvadorean and Costa-Rican currencies named coln were also named for him.
