List Of Characters From Mucha Lucha!

These are characters from the animated TV series Mucha Lucha!.

Characters are only listed once, normally under the first applicable subsection in the list. They are listed in order of their first appearance.

The Three Mascaritas

  • Rikochet - The main character of the series, Rikochet is an ambitious student at the school of Lucha Libre who wants to be the greatest luchadore of all time. His signature moves are the "Pulverizing Pinball", in which he turns into a giant pinball following a brief and melodramatic routine, and the "Spinning Top" in which he transforms into a giant top. {Carlos Alazaraqui; Jason Marsden}
  • Buena Girl - Among the Three Mascaritas, Buena Girl is the most knowledgeable on the code of masked wrestling, which she uses as guidelines for the Mascaritas' actions and behavior. Her signature move is the "Buena Bulldozer Of Truth", where she transforms into a bulldozer. Some episodes have hinted that she and Rikochet secretly have romantic feelings for each other. {Kimberly Brooks}
  • The Flea - The Flea is quite the opposite of Buena Girl. He avoids personal hygiene and usually has no problem with breaking the rules. He also almost always refers to himself in the third person (he has occasionally said "I" or "my" due to writer mistakes). The Flea's signature move is never seen during the show, but it was hinted (as well as shown in the opening sequence) that he turns into a green cloud of stench so potent that he could smash certain objects. It was revealed in one episode that The Flea's costume is actually white, but it turned brown because he never cleaned it. He actually prefers being dirty. {Candi Milo}

Other Students

  • Megawatt - So named because his mask is in the likeness of a lightbulb, and because he can execute electric attacks.
  • Penny Plutonium - The show's resident girl genius character. She often conducts scientific experiments. In some episodes featuring her, she has been revealed to have a secret crush on Rikochet.
  • Snow Pea - The small, baby-like mascarita Snow Pea is the least violent student in the school. His signature move is simply a friendly hug, and he could only say his own name. Snow Pea's costume resembles a pea pod, with a zipper that he uses to hide himself when frightened.
  • French Twist - This student looks and acts like a mime, and as such, is mainly a non-speaking character. One episode had him speaking, but he quickly abandoned it because it hindered his progress.
  • Cindy Slam - A violent little mascarita how hates just about everything and can get angry very easily. It is unknown exactly why she is so angry all the time. Most of her appearances in the first two seasons had her growling most of the time, but in season 3, she started talking regularly more often but with a southren accent.
  • The "Bad Guy Class" students - First appeared in "Heart of Lucha" as a group of students taking bad guy lessons in Room 207. Afterwards, though, they seemingly started making appearances outside of their original classroom and didn't cause any real trouble, aside from some occasional bullying. Then, during season 2, they started acting less like bad guys and became friendly towards their fellow students, dropping the whole "bad guy" thing.
    • Private Reinhardt - Wears a gas mask.
    • El Oscuro Invasor - This one looks like Darth Vader, but has never really developed as he has never had his own episode like the others.
    • Tibor the Terrible - A mascarita in a pirate costume (or, as the Flea once described him, "a pirate in a boy suit"). He seems to want to be a real pirate.
    • El Gundamo - His character is inspired by Japanese wrestler Jushin Thunder Liger. He aims to be the monster warden of Little Tokyo, and takes lessons from Kyoto (a sensei who resembles a pink bunny). He seems to have a fascination with robots.
    • Coco Demento - A clown-based student who has been revealed to be the son of a ringmaster. He only seems to satisfy his audiences when performing funny stuff. It has also been revealed that he once hung out with a group of mischief-making clowns (which would probably explain why he was in the bad guys' class).
  • La Piata - A girl whose costume resembles a piata. Aptly, when she is beaten in a match, candy falls around her.
  • Timmy of a Thousand Masks - First appearing in a self-titled episode, he has the ability to wear the masks of other luchadores and impersonate them. In his first appearance, he used this ability to cause crimes that were then pinned on Snow Pea, Minotoro, Snr. Hasbeena, and Buena Girl for a reason that he never fully explained. Eventually, the Three Mascaritas and the Headmistress caught him, and he was expelled. However, he made a returning appearance in the Christmas episode.
  • Electricity - Megawatt's apparent girlfriend. She was first seen in "Party Animal", but didn't have any real character development (or a name) until "The Collector". She often electrocutes herself from combing her hair repeatedly.
    • Zero Kelvin-He dresses in a light blue hoodie and pants,and white vest and he likes the cold.

Family, Pets, and Paraphernalia

  • Masked Dog - Rikochet's dog, who wears a mask like most of the characters in the series.
  • El Rey - El Rey is an action figure who talks, has a life of his own and lives in Rikochet's backpack. He has the personality of a drill sergeant, harshly reprimanding Rikochet whenever the latter makes a mistake, but he does not always behave honorably himself. There is also an actual (fictitious) wrestler named El Rey whom the Three Mascaritas are huge fans of, and whom the action figure is based on. The real El Rey is most likely modelled after real-life luchadore El Santo because he also starred in many old movies.

The Faculty

  • Headmistress - The principal of the school of lucha libre that the Mascaritas attend. Headmistress is extremely strict and intolerant of any behavior that goes against the code of masked wrestling, often expelling students at the slightest infraction.
  • Senor Hasbeena - A teacher who is still obsessed with disco from the 1970s. He used to be a professional wrestler, but lost his World Championship title in the 70s and never won it again, an incident that continues to haunt him for years. His name is derived from the term "has-been".
  • Mr Midcarda - The physical education teacher who organizes lucha libre matches between students and acts as the referee. His name is derived from the professional wrestling term "midcarder", which refers to a wrestler who performs between the undercard and the main event.

Hairy Knuckles Academy

  • Primadonna Hodges, Carlton Cold Jones and Heavy Traffic - Three bullies from a rival wrestling school. They appeared to be based on American professional wrestlers, who are generally larger than Mexican luchadores.
