Libeled Lady

Libeled Lady is a 1936 comedy film. A newspaperman (William Powell) uses his much-abused fiancee (Jean Harlow) to avoid a libel lawsuit filed by a woman (Myrna Loy) he has accused of breaking up marriages. It also stars Spencer Tracy. The film was written by George Oppenheimer, Howard Emmett Rogers, Wallace Sullivan and Maurine Dallas Watkins, and directed by Jack Conway. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
