Liam Kavanagh

Liam Kavanagh (b.1935) was a senior Irish politician. He was first elected to Dil ireann in 1969 as a Labour Party TD for Wicklow. He remained in the Dil until 1997 when he lost his seat. He was appointed to the European Parliament on two occasions in 1973 and 1977 and he was elected to the parliament in 1979 for the Leinster constituency. Kavanagh has held a number of Cabinet positions including:
