Geography The south town line is the border of Oneida County, New York. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 168.7 km² (65.2 mi²). 167.5 km² (64.7 mi²) of it is land and 1.2 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.69% water. Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 857 people, 296 households, and 224 families residing in the town. The population density is 5.1/km² (13.2/mi²). There are 440 housing units at an average density of 2.6/km² (6.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.30% White, 0.35% African American, 0.35% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.35% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 296 households out of which 43.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.4% are married couples living together, 9.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.3% are non-families. 19.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.90 and the average family size is 3.33.
