Leo Leandros, born Leandros Papathanasiou, was born in 1926 in Astakos village in western Greece. He left in the 1950s for Germany to go and find a better luck as a singer and composer. He had some success but the real treasure was his daughter, Vicky, who sang beautifully from a very early age. Becoming her manager, composer and producer since she was 13 he is the person responsible for her unique training and career. He also composed and produced for many other artists like Julio Iglesias, Demis Roussos, Nana Mouskouri and many more. His compositions are very lyrical with very interesting arrangements, he has composed some of the most beautiful melodies of Western popular repertoire, combining Greek Eptanesian sound with the European one.
