Leo KinlenLeo Kinlen is a British cancer resercher. His hypothesis, explaining higher leukemia rate in the areas around the British Sellafield nuclear complex, than in other parts of the country, is that the mixing of the population, which occurred when people started moving into the area to work at the facility, resulted in the spreading of a virus that could cause leukaemia. The theory was first developed in 1988 by Kinlen, but has achieved very little international recognition. Nor is there any evidence of the type of virus Kinlen refers to. Kinlen's theory is supported by the government-owned BNFL company, which operates the Sellafield nuclear complex of plants. External links
